Khang Nguyen is an award-winning architectural designer with over twelve years of experience across a wide range of building types in both the United State and internationally. Growing up in a small town near Mekong River in South Vietnam, Khang received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Architecture in Ho Chi Minh City, where he explored the potential of using culture as an instrument of vision in urban development for his hometown and won the Vietnam National of Excellent Graduation Project. Khang then received his Master of Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington where he received the Annual Celebration of Excellence by Students’ (ACES) Graduate Sustainability Award with the Zero-Energy Responsive Façade System project.

Khang approaches projects from a unique perspective to find innovative solutions with in-depth knowledge of building systems. For each design, he focuses on integrating spaces, nature, and human experience to create a unified and harmonious architectural response. He believes each project should provide a unique and memorable experience throughout the space.

Khang is also an avid freehand sketcher who enjoys sketching throughout the design process to brainstorm ideas and visualize experiences in the space. Khang has been chair of the AIA Dallas Education Outreach Committee in 2019 and 2020, an active member of Uptown Dallas Sketch Group and Urban Sketcher DFW. He resides in Richardson, TX with his wife, Naomi, and spends his free time working on projects on his house and exploring different cuisines at local authentic Dallas restaurants.
